We're Doing a Holiday CD!!

From the project web page (http://www.threadheadrecords.com/thrholidaycd.htm):

Threadhead Records, the first fan-funded, volunteer-run record company to focus entirely on the music and culture of New Orleans, is in the process of putting together our very own Holiday CD. Due out in November, the CD will be produced by Paul Sanchez and will feature a number of our multi-talented artists including John Boutté, Shamarr Allen, Susan Cowsill & Russ Broussard, Matt Perrine & Debbie Davis, Craig Klein, Alex McMurray, Glen David Andrews, Mary Lasseigne, Margie Perez, Ingrid Lucia and Paul Sanchez performing both original and standard songs of the season.

Just as we ask of all our artists for their own projects, we, too, pledge that 10% of the net proceeds raised from this project will be donated to the New Orleans Musicians Clinic. The other 90% will be split between the Threadhead Records General Fund and the Threadhead Records Foundation. The money raised for the General Fund will be used to pay our minimal overhead, advertising for our artists’ projects and other expenses related to assuring our artists’ success. Foundation monies will be used for future artists’ projects.


If you have a few dollars to spare, please kick into this project.

I just donated -using the general fund button...... but I wasn't able to make the notation for the holiday CD - the reference was already filled in for the general fund.

That's odd, Michele. I just tried the link myself- when you get to the Paypal page which says :"please review your donation", on the 2nd line down below "Purpose" is a link that says "Please Specify Which Artist Project". When clicked, that link provides a space where you can enter the project name.

Ah...no. I thought she meant the Donation button on the Holiday CD project page. Sorry!

The General Fund button on the Participate page is set to accept donations without specification.

Great idea...I've always thought a special compilation would work for these purposes. Holiday one is wonderfully timed and may have more potential sales than any other theme.

Been busy...is the non-profit company been approved yet?

We are approved in California; all the paperwork is in for the IRS 501c3...hope to get it before summer is over....
