why, thanks very much! I didn't post my birthday previously 'cuz it seemed to get caught up in that hurricane business, but 4 years hence I figured it would be alright. :) Kind of a bittersweet nexus of events this year - having come to the inescapable conclusion last month that NOLA is a no-go next year. The Governator giveth (reluctantly) and taketh (all too easily), and the 15% state employee furloughs happen to be the discretionary sweetspot for travel and other indulgences. But I am employed... and I feel otherwise blessed in so many ways: playing a lot of music (the "Dead" project is a lot of fun -www.myspace.com/cowboynealca), everyone around me is healthy, and there are several local festivals that I can attend without busting the bank. I will have to take a bit of a leave from my obsessive need to know about the 2010 Fest - it may not be true for all, but for me it's simple...

Hey Now Duende---Good hanging with you and your krewe at the subdudes Southport show; That gig is always a highlight of my 2nd weekend, and it was damn nice of you to give me a ride home!!!
Hope things are good in Sac. and look forward to catching up next spring..........

Y'all are the best - thank you very much! Just had a wonderful dinner with the daughters & 3 grandsons & 2 step-granddaughters... shrimp & jambalaya & beer. Life is GOOD! You know I'll be there next year if I can, and barring that - I will be back to beat the band in 2011. Peace! Scott
