Thanks for posting - I heard the second half of this when I got in the car this morning.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interview, and Chris was glib and serious at the same time - very much like his writing style. It was a bit ironic that he thanked Scott Simon "for remembering" New Orleans, worried that Michael Jackson's birthday might over-shadow the anniversary... born-out later on NPR when Spike Lee announced a Brooklyn M.J. celebration featuring a moment of silence for NOLA.

Both Chris & Tom Piazza mentioned the same realization that the recovery may have peaked and that this may be the new New Orleans. I guess I've been one of the hoping-it-gets-back-to-normal people, but it may be time to set that aside and enjoy the city for what it is and what it will become. Oh, and is that "Treme" show still coming to HBO? I was set to cancel my cable subscription until I heard it mentioned again Saturday.

I saw a "teaser" for Treme last week. HBO wasn't very specific about its launch. Coming in 2010.
