Welcome, Michael! The jazzfest bible is Offbeat (www.offbeat.com), the "bible" edition comes out right before first weekend of fest. They usually give them away outside fest gates.

I think you're talkin' about the most fabulous magazine called Offbeat. You can go on line to http://www.offbeat.com (http://www.offbeat.com/)

but that week local publications including the Gambit are also must haves....simply, when you come in town hit any coffee shop and you'll be set.

the Offbeat. its a monthly publication and they do a special edition for jazzfest (in place of may?). and i think if you subscribe to the slick cover version you may receive it in the mail in time. but that's the way it was pre-katrina. some things change.

they will be free & plentiful outside of festival. its best to get the daily paper and/or check inside the fest for last minute schedule changes.

i have a question about your TH name. i have to assume you do not live in NOLA since you did not know about the Offbeat (or you work for them and were baiting us).
does it imply you will be a Cabana Boy while in New Orleans or you are a Cabana Boy in Northern Oklahoma/Ontario/or O-something else?
do you hire out? we could use a Cabana boy during fest. nothing too hard or lewd. just apply sunscreen and fetch drinks. stay sober & drive us home.

NOCB, got my bible at LMF a day b4 fest or that morning, if I remember correctly. I had it the entire time until @ the airport going home-was dreary-eyed remembering the great time I had and left it at the fricken airport.:(

according to the website you can purchase past editions. $7 for JF month.
i just came accross several from last year. may have thrown them out - and they might be gutted (schedules removed). if i find an extra one, i'll bring it.
