Yeah.... looks like I'm missing all the good threadhead action over there in the Viex Carre... but for 79 bucks a night that save alot of money for COLD, COLD BEER!

YYR about that joisey girl....(I'm livin in northern NJ - had to look on a map to see where Ventnor was located...u far away....). But one of the other great things is that cabs are a plenty around that location..lots of cabs line up around there in the evening because it is so close to the casino etc.
I think you did well...and goodness knows - there are gonna be a lot of people stayin' there for the fest...just u wait.

i thought i was losing what's left of my mind - the post i made wasnt here - then realized it was on Hotwire thread on the Everything..... category.
so others dont have to search (cause it aint that interesting) my 2.5 cents:
in general, the reviews from tripadvisor.com are pretty good. there are some bad reviews about rude staff - but those were pre-katrina. and appears to be a good location for grabbing cabs. its a good distance from the 1/4 and it may not be the safest area for walking after dark.
warning for newbies: if driving or renting a car, consider how much it will cost to park daily at or near hotel, and/or any inconveniences of parking. some places can take .5 hour to get you car from valet.

Landing May 2nd and sadly leaving on the 7th.
When I win the lottery I'm definately buying a house there... can just fly in for a couple of days to renew my soul (this will probably not include much rest though will have to do that at my other home on the Medeteranian) :D

WOULD LOVE TOO!
Problem is... not only do I live near the casinos but I work in one also... weekends off are tough in the biz. Not so tough for My Phil though... he's a fireman, which translates to... he always off when he needs to be.

Both brothers in law firemen and my little sister is a fulltime firefighter (no kidding) and a trauma nurse....(yes, she's the underachiever in the fam) they can work absolute freakin' magic with a schedule - never seen anything like it.
I have a m-f type job - so it's okay (monday-friday- y'all stop thinkin' bad) and lots o vacation time - so I have no complaints.
Maybe you should work for Harrah's and ask to have a temporary transfer in April and May.....hee hee hee

you're not too far away for the french quarter and easy 15 minute walk or cabride and you can still hang with the threadheads in the quarter

On Priceline.com I have a package for airfare and hotel at this Holiday Inn for $730. But I hate how the flight times are open from 6a - 10p. I dunno what to do?!?!?!

leave or arrrive? the problem wih some/most of the super secret airfares is how many cities/how long it will take you to get ther.
i have found that closer to destination date, the more often the combine airline/hotel packages are a good deal.
ijust have to wetgh hunt time vs dollar spent + peace of mind,
best wishes.

Assume the times will be the least convenient, and then decide if it's worth it.
So how good a deal is this? What days are you looking at, and what would airfare be if you bought that by itself?
