I read on the nola.com board that the former Dayz Inn on Canal has been closed!

yep, it was closed "temporarily" a week or so ago after the woman was murdered in the lobby. They closed it because it didn't have a working sprinkler system, but when they searched the rooms, they found quite a bit of drugs, cash & guns.

One of NOPD's finest told me that guns were literally falling out of the ceiling tiles when they searched the place.

Aaugh! Shades of the Hotel Carter here in Times Square.
Rooms include a body under the bed.
To think I stayed there back in 2001. It truly wasn't that bad!
I think I also read that when it changed ownership, there was never a certificate of occupancy issued!

Well,
Where did you expect them to hide the guns?
Oh, and that cash I left up there? Where can I go to claim it? ;)
I was thinking the NOPD evidence room, but I hear that 'stuff' goes missing from there...

Oh yeah, $200,000 missing from there, but it's ok, Chief Riley didn't know he had to tell someone about that!
