When you order your posters, once you enter your credit card info and submit, you might be taken to an error page. Do NOT resubmit your order until you've checked your e-mail. Your order probably went through, but you were not forwarded to the confirmation page.

If you try and submit your order again, you'll probably be charged twice and order twice as many posters as you wanted.

I can't get the site to work at all right now.

I hate waiting to purchase tickets or something online and then having the site not work. That has happened to me twice this week. Get your shit together people!

Just so you all know, I don't work for A4N. I'm just someone who tried to order a poster. Please... no flaming! :)

I received the same error message when I ordered last night, but I got an e-mailed confirmation of my order this morning. I wouldn't rush to re-order anything until you're sure your order didn't go through; they won't be selling out of anything for a long while.

I clicked submit the 2nd time, and got 2 emails, but only one order shows on my Track Orders page.

What's the story with the shipping? Looks like the only choice is to add $20 for fed-ex...anyone see another option? I guess I can say it's worth the $20 not to have to lug the posters around all day but I thought you used to be able to have a couple of options on shipping, like UPS ground????? Anyone?

I got hit with the same $20 for fed ex, with no other options. But at least my order went through the first time so I didn't double order.

I couldn't place an order through Firefox, but it looks my Explorer page is working fine. Still having troubles with it?

Thanks for the tips everyone.

I got the error six times, thus six confirmations but only one order in my customer profile. Do read the T&C's though. Very interesting. They claim to have the right to revoke any order (less 15%) admin. fee and delete customer's account if they find any presale activity on eBay, etc... Not sure how they would ever match an eBay user name to an art-4-now subscription?

Gang,

Art4Now is apparently having troubles - but anyone who has done website development or is contracting out knows that these things happen - let's try to be patient. I bet you that they wish we weren't having these problems even more than we do.

I'm a little concerned about the shipping via FedEx for us Canajuns. The $20 charge is only the start...

I recently ordered something on Ebay that was shipped via FedEx, and they dinged me for an extra $58 in customs fees and Goods and Services tax. The item only cost me $50! For that reason, I usually pick up my posters etc. while onsite, but I don't think I'll have access this year until the second weekend...and that might be too late for the Congo Square poster i want.

Yes, I went online just before midnight (NOLA time) last night and indeed can confirm that the A4N site is not configured for Firefox . . . so Firefox users will have to slum and break out the I.E. to order online from them.

It would be helpful for them to have a note regarding this technical requirement for users . . . if anyone out there has the ear of a A4N, maybe you could pass along the suggestion from a fellow I.T. professional.

:)

Ross, this seems so simple that you may have already thought of it and rejected it, but you could have the posters shipped to a U.S. address of someone you know and trust that you may visit this summer, and then get them when you visit. I don't know how tight Canadian customs is at the US/Canadian crossing points, but it might save you some money if they don't check too close...just a thought.

Merci beaucoup, Orleansnj!!! As someone who does tech stuff for a living, I do understand the pressures of deadlines and working with techology - but I guess I'm a stickler for more communication to users, not less . . . I know they're good folks and mean well, and I'm sure they'll get these bugs all squared away in short order.

Thanks again for the assist!

I know exactly what you mean....useability testing seems to have been phased out recently....eh?

The person I talked with seemed slightly freaked out by the problems and slightly pissed. Although I didn't ask directly, I got the sense that they had contracted out for this and just weren't feelin' the love at the moment......

LOL!

Not that I'm laughing at A4N, just that I've been in those situations where you're releasing a new tech thingy (website, software program, etc.) and *especially* when you didn't do it yourself, but hired someone else do do it - that first day is REALLY tough . . .

Poor guys - they should make the website designer field the tech calls!

Thanks Nola, that's good advice. As i said, I usually prefer to grab the stuff in person because, uh, it means that I was THERE!

I'd be happy to help the Canujuns with transshipment. One of the Windsor contingent could come pick them up in Ann Arbor and disperse them once they got back across the border. Probably catch a meal and some decent music in the process.

The charges hit my card overnight, and it looks like despite the double-click and double-emails, they only charged me once. So I'm good.

Seems like Art4Now is having far more problems than anyone realized earlier. Many of the functions on their website are not working - cannot retrieve lost passwords, cannot order multiple items (have friend experiencing this). I have left them a phone message to try to help them out.....but this is actually bad when you think about it..... I feel bad for them, most of all.....hopefully things will work out in the end for everyone.

Just saw the new website last night and I'm disappointed. I liked the old site much better.

Hi all,

An update. Art4Now is working furiously with their vendor to correct any problems. I did learn that the shipping $20.00 FedEx is actually not a mistake. It is an automatic when you purchase goods over a certain dollar amount to protect us, as the customer. When you go FedEx they provide Art4Now with a tracking number - which means there will be a record (instead of the post office)..... so to all who were worried - it's a good reason.

They are also working to resolve any log-in and e-mail issues.

If you were charged twice, by accident, because of the problems referenced earlier on the boards -be patient - they are working to fix that too.........

I gotta tell you - they are a great group of people and are really interested in getting this right. Personally, I think that the vendor they contracted with to redesign the site owes them an apology and a bit of a refund - but that's their discussion to have.

I just placed my order for posters this morning, and had no problems whatsoever. So it looks like they've fixed most of the errors.

had a small issue this morning when trying to order something so I called and had the most wonderful experience. great customer service and when they found out that i was ordering for a birthday gift they got my poster ready to go today instead of having to wait until next week (looks like it's only the current posters that you need to wait until after jazzfest).
