Something happening today?

Odd. We usually average less than 75 off season...

Most of them are on the diet and excercise thread. Very odd.

I'm sure a lot of posters do that so the regular numbers would reflect that anyway.

Yeah, now that Firefox no longer stores and remembers passwords (@#$% that frustrates me), I enter as a guest and then have to login to reply or post.

My Firefox still saves everything. What version are you using?

Hmmm. I use the "keep me logged in" option, but this morning, I found I was logged out and had to re-login. If that happened to others, that explanis the high guest count.

I also upgraded my Firefox this weekend from 3.0 to the new 3.5. I just tried quitting it completely and restarting it, and it kept me logged in. So hopefully that's unrelated.

I'm still on 3.0.11 and had no problems .... automatically logged me in.

3.0.11 here too. I'm not sure what it is, but all websites I frequent don't "remember me" and I have to login each time.

That might account for a higher than normal guest count but not the unusually high total count.

Have you checked that the Remember Passwords box is checked in the Security page under Options? It's strange how those things mysteriously uncheck themselves sometimes.

Verified that (thanks for thinking of it). It's been about 2 months now and I'm about used to it. Since I use a laptop for work, it's not a bad idea, though, to enter id's & passwords each time.

I don't know if it has anything to do with your issues but I have noticed recently that, occasionally, the site (I guess) is not registering when I read a post so when I refresh it shows up again as unread.

If someone steals your laptop, either they're looking for bank account info or else it's either going straight to the pawn shop. The thief posting as you on the threadhead board is about the last thing I'd worry about.

Well...the board is the least of the concerns....the email, business email accounts, bank accounts, client bank accounts, are all at risk. And Facebook - I don't want anyone jacking with my Facebook Tetris high scores.
