I'm glad you are coming back. I'm sure someone more local will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Hyatt by the Superdome is still being renovated. Priceline and Hotwire do have other hotels however and deals can be had.

Jacque Imo's (sp?) is open, some TH's have been and can tell you how it is.

Jacques Imo's is definitely open and as crazy and delicious as ever. The Hyatt is still a mess though. Others on here have done well on Priceline/Hotwire/whatever at different locations though so I'm sure they'll chime in. Do come back!

Hyatt is closed at least thru autumn.

Check http://jazzfest.swagland.com/bidding.html for all the priceline & hotwire results.

Looking at the Hyatt from my office window, i can tell you that very little work has been done on it - it is doubtful that it will ever reopen at the hotel that it was - there are various plans regarding redevelopment of a large peice of land running from the Hyatt, Superdome, City Hall, old Supreme court building, it was going to have open air venues and jazz museums and things like that, are fine mayor announced it shortly after he won the past election, however, haven't heard another thing about it....I think the Hyatt is just waiting to see what happens......

Maybe they're going to turn the penthouse suite in which Mayor McCheese "suffered" during the storm into a museum and thus they're preserving it's post-Katrina state . . .

Jacque-Imo's was open for fest last year. we got in on first thrusday with a short wait - but we arrived early (5 ish) and it was just 2 of us. they still take reservations for groups of 5 or more, 30 days or less in advance. its still great, but its not the cheap deal it used to seem to be. i think most of the entrees are close to $20 now. but you still get a lot of food on your plate.
